That neuroscientists have found that meditation shifts brain activity to different areas of the cortex. This means that a person who meditates daily can actually shift brain waves from the stress-prone right frontal cortex to the calmer left frontal cortex.

This calmer, mental shift has been proven to decrease the negative effects of stress, mild depression, anxiety and panic attacks. In addition, there is also less activity in the amygdale, where the brain processes fear.

That not only do we have different body constitutions, but also different mind constitutions. In fact, each of us belong to a particular group of mind-types. Before you practice meditation, knowing which mind-type you belong to is important because it will:

  • Help you find the ideal meditation practice for you.
  • Increase your chance of a successful meditation practice.
  • Enhance the benefits of each meditation session.
  • Promote a more joyful meditation experience.
